Bleurgh. Today is one of those days where I was unable to wake up and my head feels like it's fizzing. I'm so lucky to no longer be doing my 9-5 but man, I feel like a useless lump of meat. Housework is a pain and source of major guilt and the cat keeps shitting on the carpet which is offending my nose! So.. I am writing this on a laptop from my bed :)
9 weeks today. Due date still 25th October.
Weight: creeping up to 9 stone, so about 55kg. I reckon I should gain another 14kg throughout this pregnancy, which is a little under 11 stone. I'll be a whale!
Jizz feels funny today. He/she often feels funny: very twingy and I feel I'm going to dislodge something if I bend or move too much.
Low level nausea - no more vomitting. Seriously annoying exhaustion.
I've also started spotting again today - the dark brown mucus kind (nice!) which is why I have allowed myself to WFB (work from bed).
H is convinced it's a boy - he would. I keep changing my mind! I can't wait to find out!!!
OOoooo.

A Heartbeat!
Today I cried at a poem about a donkey. It wasn't even an emotional one. And Loose Women. My boobs look amazing and a have a mini bulge. Yup.. deffo pregnant!
A bit of weight off came on Monday morning when an early scan at 8 weeks showed little Jizz progressing normally. ...and with a heartbeat! Apparently, that's a great big milestone, so we're feeling slightly better about everything.
Hamish thinks it's a boy and has come up with a new favourite name: Wolf. WOLF! I mean, really? Really? It's so bonkers, I almost quite like it... almost.
Days since LMP: 48
Weight: 8 and 3/4 stone, creeping up to 9.
Cravings: nothing unusal. Can't get enough croissants though, but that's quite normal for me.
Come on little one, you can do it!

A sicky start to the week
Oh joy of joys! Hurrah! Whoop whoop! Guess what? I was sick this morning. MORNING SICKNESS! That must mean things are still on track, right?
Days SLMP: 38 days
Start of week 7 tomorrow - SLMP
So, I'm either 5 or 7 weeks pregnant. Pre mid-wife session on Weds and next scan coming up on Mon 14th March.
Come on, littl'un... Little... Jizz (yes, he won. the name stuck).
We can do this!

Strangely normal
So, after a few days of not being able to keep my eyes open, I feel spritely as anything! I feel fabulous... but that worries me; I can't feel any symptoms at all at the moment... apart from a new found obsession with Radley handbags.
No more bleeding - great. But can it just get reabsorbed at this stage? 'yik'!
AAARGH! AM I going to have this baby or not??!!
Perhaps it's because my parents are inherent pessimists, that they have convinced me to not get excited until at least week 12. They are also medical though...a GP and an ex midwife, no less. Who do I believe? The websites or the medical parents?
Why is it that in films, when people get pregnant, it's always so black and white: you're pregnant and you're going to have a baby? If only it were that simple!

Roller Coaster ride..
Ok, so after that first week of celebrating, I started bleeding: not a huge amount, but bright red drops like the start of a period. We were both utterly devastated and to make matters worse, my parents were over so now they know everything!
But.. the bleeding stopped. That was on Sunday morning, 27th Feb. It came back a little in the form of dark mucus blurgh!) yesterday (tues) so I decided to book an appointment at the Early Pregnancy Unit down the road to see if we were all still on track.
My first scan was this morning: 6 weeks and 1 day since last period. The scan showed a good sac and yolk, but no embryo yet. The Dr. was happy and put the pregnancy at 4-5 weeks which sounded a little worrying to me initially, but after a lot of investigation, it appears that this is quite normal: early scans can often put your dates back a week or two. I also probably ovulated 4-5 days later than I had actually thought, looking at my other dates, so that would put me at roughly 4 weeks since conception only.
All good. Next scan on 14th March. H is coming this time.
Fingers crossed and no booze!!
