I was NOT expecting THAT today!

So, there's good news and bad news for me today: the bad news is that I'm not going to be able to drink wine for 9 months plus...

After over a year of trying for a baby, I had just finished a whole load of very painful tests and procedures (laparoscopy, removal of severe endometriosis, fallopian tube testing (HSG)). Now apparently 'fixed', I was told to start a course of Clomid - a drug that's supposed to assist ovulation - on the second day of my next period.

Period day came and I got a spot of blood, then very little until the following night. The next morning, I thought the time had come, so I read the leaflet in the Clomid box (I HAVE NEVER BOTHERED TO DO THAT BEFORE IN MY LIFE!) which highly recommended that I take a pregnancy test beforehand, just to be sure. Being paranoid, I did.

Oh my goodness gracious. WTF? It said I was pregnant. Already!! I've only just taken out the stitches!

And so it begins. I'm officially 4 weeks pregnant. This time last month, I was told there was only a 50:50 % chance I could ever conceive naturally. And yes, I drank a fair bit of vino before I found out.

Symptoms so far: very little. A slight feeling of bloatedness and a few period-like cramps. Tiredness levels are up a bit, but other than that not a lot. I'm quite looking forward to weird cravings and bigger boobies though.

Serious things to do: register with doctor (finally). Get appointment with midwife for 2 weeks time. Check! Check!

Weight: 56.6kg
BMI: 18.45

Did I mention that I run wine tasting events? Something's going to have to change...
